The Delhi and Districts Cricket association is conducting a Level A course for coaches at the historic Ferozeshah Kotla stadium in the national capital. This is the second time that the association is undertaking this exercise with the help of faculty sent by the National Cricket Academy.
Thirty five enthusiastic candidates are pursuing the programme which consists of theory lectures followed by practicals on the ground. The prospective coaches are undeterred by the heat wave in the city, with mercury levels touching an unbearable 40 degrees in the afternoons.
Among the candidates are thirteen former first class cricketers and even four women. Tilak Raj, Feroze Ghayas, Nitin Goel, Sukhvinder Singh, Rajeshwar Vats, and Wing Co.Bajpayee are some of the noted trainees attending the six day course. Also in attendance is Vinod Sharma, veteran coach of the Indian Railways.
